There's a wee artwork here for every taste.

Wonderful new work just in from Mike Paora, the striking Poutama (Stairway to Heaven), the super detailed Mahi Tahi with five types of timber and Rā (Sun), which has a fantastic 3D aspect. ☀️
Mike’s work has been crafted from salvaged timbers, their stories playing a role in the māna of each completed piece. Find them in our galleries and online at www.thepoiroom.co.nz

OPENING TOMORROW! 🌸🦢🌼🕯️🌸🦭🌼🎈
Meet Dawn Clayden, the ceramicist who has wowed customers at The Poi Room consistently with her gorgeous, flower laden vases, swans, kitty cats, spacemen and more.
Now, Dawn has let her love for pop art take her to surreal heights with ‘Fragile Fantasies- An odyssey of adornment’.
This is Dawn’s work like we have never seen before, not just on a large scale - there are 200 or so pieces - but the detail in each piece is incredible, and the subject matter will have you totally enthralled.
Spot a hint of the completely NEW direction Dawn has taken with some of her work in our image. We cannot wait to unveil the exhibition tomorrow! 🎉

Join us at The Poi Room
17 Osborne Street, Newmarket
Thursday 03/04/25
5:30 - 7:30 pm
For refreshments and the chance to meet Dawn - and to see the collection in its entirety.

It’s not seaweed. Well it is, but it’s not. This study on nature has been created with thread by artist Cathy Brickhill whose forays into the wild inspire her meticulously crafted works. 🪡🦋
If you missed our blog about Cathy last week you can find it on our website www.thepoiroom.co.nz - just scroll to the bottom of our homepage. It’s a fascinating read.

It’s tricky to accurately show scale in our photos, but at over 1.4metres wide, this latest awesome original from Kirsty does tend to steal the spotlight! Get in quick if this one appeals to you, Kirsty’s landscapes are super popular 🌳🌴

Here’s what Kirsty says about this Coromandel scene:
This is the spectacular view in Manaia as you make your descent from the top of the hill towards Coromandel township. It will be familiar to so many who have their holidays on our beautiful east coast.
